Every so often a nude scene gets paired with a song that, for better or worse, ends up making it that much more memorable, and in honor of its new 4K release today we’re taking a skin-depth look at a film known just as much for nudity as the soundtrack that surrounds it: 1983’s Risky Business.

Rebecca De Mornay Nude in Risky Business

Director Paul Brickman’s coming-of-age film about a rich suburban high schooler’s exploits with a sex worker while his parents are out of town was a smash hit, launching the careers of stars Tom Cruise and badass blonde Rebecca DeMornay, making her nude debut in spectacular fashion by showing all three Bs during their initial bang sesh to the futuristic melodies of Tangerine Dream.

The film’s soundtrack was the fourth film scored by the German electronic musicians, who would go on to create the music for another Tom Cruise film, Legend, as well as the Stephen King adaptation Firestarter, the game Grand Theft Auto V, and they serve as the inspiration for the music on Netflix’s Stranger Things. But nothing has topped Tangerine Dream's sexiest contribution to skin-ema.

While the film’s iconic use of Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock and Roll” may get most of the attention, the band’s patented brand of moody synth turned out to be the perfect accompaniment to the pair’s steamy scenes. So much so that their public lovemaking to the tune of “Love on a Real Train” propelled the song to legendary status despite not getting to see Rebecca’s racy bits again, even earning it a spot on Pitchfork’s list of the best 200 songs of the 1980s.

The classic combo of Rebecca riding Tom while riding the El to Tangerine Dream is well-known for making fans De Moan-ay with pleasure!
